On Saturday 18th March, 43 cadets from Ark Alexandra Academy CCF took part in a 13-mile sponsored walk raising money for Combat Stress, a charity that works with army veterans struggling with mental health issues after leaving the forces. They began walking in the heavy rain at 9am around Bewl Reservoir. The conditions underfoot were terrible but around midday, the weather changed and the sun came out. The cadets finished their walk at 3pm. Although the conditions were difficult, not one cadet complained. With 13 miles completed, they were greeted by their parents knowing that between them they had raised over £8200 so far. The cadets are the top fundraising team in the country, a top organisation in the country and their contingent commander is the top individual fundraiser for this event.
